Tobin’s Run On 51 (2nd show of new jazz series)
‘Both Sides Now – The Melting Pot’

The evening will showcase what good things can happen when diverse
artists join forces. In the late 70’s legendary jazz bassist & composer
Charles Mingus invited Joni Mitchell to collaborate with him. The
result was the critically acclaimed Mingus album, a sound that was
contemporary, lyrical and complex. This show will explore
‘the song’ in jazz and we’ll hear artists who excel when crossing
genres. Featuring music from Christine & Phil, special guests,
grammy nominated vocalist Kate McGarry & guitarist Kieth Ganz
Duo Palooza and internationally renowned trumpeter Ingrid Jensen
with her quartet. Show starts at 8pm

April 27
NEW YORK – IRISH ARTS CENTER
Tobin’s Run On 51 (3rd show of new jazz series)
‘Rip, Rig & Panic’

This evening’s show takes its title from an album by the virtuosic
jazz musician Rahsaan Roland Kirk. He was an American jazz
multi-instrumentalist who played tenor saxophone, flute and
many other instruments. His unique boundary-pushing style,
onstage vitality, comic banter and political rantings epitomize
the zeitgeist of the 1960’s and the reshaping of the world as it was
known. A range of very special guests capture that spirit with more
music, stories & fun on Tobin’s Run. Show starts at 8pm
